Special Events @ Messiah

September 7th at 10:30 Mass on the Grass & Parish Picnic

We will worship outside on the Close and enjoy a wonderful picnic afterwards, thanks to the efforts of our hospitality committee and food and beverage donors. Do make an effort to come and invite a friend or neighbor -- there will be food enough for all!

September 14th at 8:00 & 10:30 Services

At both services on September 14, we will honor the students and teachers in our congregation, including our Sunday school teachers. Please encourage your children to bring a backpack to church to be blessed for the new school year. Also, following the 10:30 a.m. service there will be a meeting of everyone who is interested in teaching Sunday school or would like to support this vital ministry in some way.

September 14th at 9:30 AM - Tx3: Time, Talent, and Treasure

Our usual forum on the second Sunday of each month will be held between services on September 14, when we will examine the biblical and theological bases of giving to the Church. Is money a forbidden word in church? It sometimes seems so because of our reluctance to examine why the church needs our financial support as well as our gifts of time and talent. How do we discern what we have to give and how much to give of what we have?We will look at what the Bible has to say as well as how we are informed by our Anglican tradition. Come and share your views, energy, and any misgivings at our meeting. We need to hear from you!

October 10th at 7:00 PM - A Night of Opera

The Rev. Timothy H. Grayson and the Church of the Messiah invite you to join us for our third annual “Night of Opera” on Friday, October 10 at 7:00 PM. The concert will feature James Harp, the Modell Lyric’s Artistic Director, along with soprano Colleen Daly and tenor Peter Drackley, performing arias from Madame Butterfly and other operas, popular show tunes, and Spirituals.  Just wait until you hear our newly refurbished organ “sing” in the hands of Baltimore’s legendary Maestro Harp!
