Who We Are

We look to the life and teachings of Jesus Christ for our model of community and acknowledge both the simplicity and complexity of that challenge.

We welcome Episcopalians, Christians from other traditions, and members of other faiths. We welcome seekers and skeptics, agnostics and atheists. We welcome the hopeful, the despondent, the ambivalent and the indifferent. We welcome all ages and abilities, classes and cultures, races, genders, and sexual orientations. We welcome everyone to participate in our worship and in our community, without insisting that any person become like any one of us in order to be accepted.

St. Matthias & Church of the Messiah asks only that you extend to all the same welcome

Bible Study

St. Matthias & Church of the Messiah has an Adult Bible Study, an informal group that meets at 9:00 AM on Sundays via Zoom. We read and discuss the Revised Common Lectionary readings for each Sunday, learning background about each passage, and then sharing how it impacts our lives today. It's never boring! No advanced reading is necessary. Everyone is welcome!

The Library

St. Matthias & Church of the Messiah has a library with two large sets of bookshelves filled with books for our members to borrow, including titles that have been discussed by our Open Book Group.  Books are easy to check-out -- just sign your name and the day's date in the books you choose to take, take them home to enjoy them, and when you're finished reading, simply return them to the "returns" spot on the shelf.

We believe that God is at work here.  Come and see!  We welcome guests at worship as well as all of our events, and are always happy to answer questions.
