In Hamilton since 1920, Messiah has a long tradition of community outreach.  The importance of families and the role of food as a sustaining force, both physical and spiritual, in our lives, continue to be a focus for us as we listen and respond to our neighbors in Northeast Baltimore.

Our current efforts include:

Our Food Pantry on Monday and Tuesday mornings;
A Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) Pick Up sight to to support local, sustainable agriculture and
        to help make fresh organic produce more readily available to the residents of Northeast Baltimore;
A monthly Baking Team to bake nourishing desserts for the HIV+ clients of Moveable Feast;
Crocheting squares to assemble as blankets for those who are homeless, ill or facing other challenges through our Blanket Project;
Acting as a "buddy congregation" for the Baltimore Interfaith Hospitality Network (BIHN);
Providing space in our facility to the Caroline Center, a women's culinary job-training program, and
        to Arts & Ideas Elementary, a democratic alternative school.
Support for Episcopal Community Services of Maryland's programs in Baltimore's Collington Square
        neighborhood;
Sponsoring families through the Villa Maria Christmas Program;
Hosting meetings for Boy Scout Troop 161, Alcoholics Anonymous and  Narcotics Anonymous.
